At VNLA, we recognize music as a fluid that nourishes the mind, body, and soul. Our view is that music is the greatest form of self-expression beyond the written and spoken word. We are aware of the influence of music, like sport, to act as a unifying factor in our country. We are equally aware that rooted in our African nature is the natural rhythms that guide how we celebrate, mourn and how we live our daily lives.
These inert rhythms will come to life at the music department of the VNLA. Our boys and girls will be exposed to both ancient and modern musical instruments and tools. They will have the opportunity to walk back the music history of our beautiful country and continent. They will be taken on a journey back to the days when as Africans we sang and danced to announce the new moon; we called family and tribal meetings using our voices, and we announced the passing of our neighbors in rhythmic songs. It will be an authentic African Music experience. After all, we are authentically an African Academy!
Our job will only be complete when your child leaves our academy as an educated, ethical and responsible person.
It will be a great honour to have your sons and daughters at our academy.
